Celebrity Garages and Their Epoxy Floors

Since we handle so many epoxy floors in southern New Jersey, we’ve done a lot of basements and garage floor painting for the people Millville, Hammonton, and Washington Township. But New Jersey isn’t exactly the land of celebrities with so much money to spend that they build special garages for their car. Most of those people are in New York or in Los Angeles, so unfortunately we’ll probably never get the chance to work on their next garage. Still, if any of the celebrities are looking for a custom epoxy floor, we’re ready to help!

JAY LENO

When you think of celebrities that have a collection of cars, the one that first comes to most people’s minds is Jay Leno. After hosting The Tonight Show for 17 years, we’re pretty sure we know how he can afford to own pretty much any car he wants!

So just how many cars does Jay Leno own? More than 200, that’s how many. And while that might be hard to believe, it’s even harder to believe that all of these cars are under one roof! He bought an aircraft hangar, had a custom epoxy floor installed, and keeps all of his antique cars there. The “garage” even has a name: The Big Dog.

Jay Leno has a genuine love of cars and how they’re put together. He’s even not that bad at working on them. While some celebrities collections focus on particular makes of cars, Leno’s collection of antique and racing cars is all over the map.

TIM ALLEN

Tim Allen is best known for 203 episodes of the television show Home Improvement, which aired between 1991 and 1999. Most of the time his character was working with small tools, whether they were electric, gas powered, or manual. But in real life Allen is more of a fan of much larger pieces of equipment: cars.

While Allen’s collection is nowhere near as large as Leno’s, it’s just as eclectic. Some are small and underpowered foreign cars like early VWs, while others are revered Porsches. On the domestic side, he’s quite proud of his 1950 Cadillac. When it comes to race cars, he seems to stick to Fords. He owns a racing Shelby Cobra S/C, the rarest of all Cobras.

RALPH LAUREN

A man best known for running a fashion-based company might not be your first thought when it comes to car collectors, but that’s Ralph Lauren. And considering he’s worth over five BILLION dollars, we’re guessing that owning orange cars isn’t his only collection.

Did we say orange cars? We most certainly did. The bulk of his collection is full of bright orange cars including Alfa Romeos, Bentleys, and Lamborghini. They’re certainly easy enough to find them in the parking lot!

So you might wonder why these celebrity garages always have such a nice epoxy floor coating under their expensive cars. Well, first of all, it just looks fancy. Most of these garages are more like museums than garages, and they want to give their cars the absolute best space that looks nice but doesn’t detract from putting the focus on the cars. Second, many of these old cars don’t have the tightly-closed systems of newer ones, so you’re much more likely to get oil and coolant drips on the floor. Epoxy flooring just makes these spills easier to mop up when it happens.

You might not have antique Ferraris and Porsches, but we bet you wouldn’t mind having a custom epoxy floor to go under your wheels in the garage. Contact us today to see what Floorskinz can do for you!
